How to measure for the female body type calculator
Bust
Measure at the fullest point of your chest, keeping the tape horizontal.
Waist
Measure at the narrowest point of your torso, usually 2–3 cm above the navel.
Hips
Measure at the widest point of your hips and bottom, with feet together.
Keep the measuring tape snug but not tight, and measure at least twice for accuracy. You can use centimetres or inches — the calculator accepts both.

Body type calculator for women — FAQ
What are the female body types?
The four main female body types are hourglass, pear, apple, and rectangle. Each is defined by the ratio between bust, waist, and hip measurements. Some systems also recognise a fifth type — inverted triangle — for women with broader shoulders or bust than hips.
How do I calculate my body type as a female?
Measure your bust (fullest point), waist (narrowest point), and hips (widest point). Enter all three into the free calculator on the homepage, select Female, and click Calculate. The tool applies a percentage-based algorithm and returns your body type in seconds.
Is body type the same as body shape?
"Body type" and "body shape" refer to the same measurement-based silhouette classification when used in the context of a calculator. Both terms describe the proportional relationship between bust, waist, and hips. You may also see "body type" used in fitness contexts to describe metabolic tendencies (ectomorph, mesomorph, endomorph), which is a different classification entirely.
Can my body type change?
Yes. Your body type classification can shift as your measurements change over time due to weight changes, muscle gain, pregnancy, or other factors. The calculation is simply a snapshot of your current proportions — re-use the calculator whenever you'd like an updated result.
Which female body type is most common?
Studies suggest rectangle is the most common female body type, accounting for roughly 45% of women. Pear shape is the second most common at around 20%, followed by apple at about 14%, and hourglass at approximately 8%.
