Measurement Guide
Accurate measurements give accurate results. Here's exactly where and how to measure for women and men.
Wrap the tape across the fullest part of your breasts, keeping it parallel to the floor and level across your back. Do not compress the tissue.
Wear a well-fitting (non-padded) bra for the most accurate reading.
Find the natural indent about 2–3 cm above your navel. Breathe out gently, then measure — do not hold your breath or suck in.
If unsure, bend sideways — the crease that forms is your natural waist.
Stand with feet together. Wrap the tape around the widest part of your hips and buttocks, keeping it parallel to the floor.
Usually 18–23 cm below your natural waist, but check by feel for the widest point.
Female measurement points
Use a soft tape
A flexible tailor's tape is best. A piece of string + ruler works too.
Stand naturally
Stand on a flat surface in your normal posture. Breathe normally — do not suck in.
Keep it level
The tape should be parallel to the floor all the way around your body.
Measure twice
Take each measurement twice and use the average for the most reliable result.
All calculations are percentage-based — accurate in both centimetres and inches.

FAQ
Body Shape Guide
Understanding your silhouette is the first step to effortless style.
A body shape describes the overall silhouette of a person's body, defined by the relative proportions of the shoulders (or bust), waist, and hips. Unlike BMI or weight, body shape is purely about proportion — it tells you about your silhouette, not your size or health.
Understanding your body shape is primarily a styling tool: it helps you identify cuts, fabrics, and silhouettes that tend to be most flattering for your proportions. For example, someone with an hourglass shape may find wrap dresses particularly flattering; someone with a rectangle shape can create curves with belted styles.
Three measurements define your shape — bust, waist, and hips. Their relative proportions determine your silhouette category.
How to Measure
3 key measurements for your body shape
Keep tape snug but not tight · measure twice for accuracy
This calculator uses a percentage-based algorithm, which means it produces the same result whether you enter measurements in centimetres or inches. The system compares your three measurements using a fixed set of rules:
Hourglass:
bust and hips are within 5% of each other, and the waist is 75% or less of the average of bust and hips.
Pear:
hips exceed bust by more than 5%.
Apple:
bust exceeds hips by more than 5%.
Rectangle:
all three measurements are within 5% of each other.
Rules are applied in order — the first matching category wins — ensuring every set of measurements maps to exactly one shape with no ambiguity.
